J

just-in-time (JIT)
inventory management in which materials arrive "just in time" for final preparation and shipment. JIT fulfillment optimizes warehouse space, and reduces inventory holding costs, but requires excellent supply chain management (SCM) skills, to insure that all components necessary to ship the products arrive in warehouse just in time for final kitting and shipment.
